Bus Passenger Counting automatic traffic counter

The determination of the exact number of passenger is a serious task for the public transport companies. Till now – without an automatic solution – poll taker tried to estimate the average number of passengers with sampling on a chosen day for money. Recognizing the demands of the public transport companies Sodimax, integrated a passenger counting camera sensor to the system. The counting accuracy of the sensor is better than 96%. In contrast to the pressure-based sensors this machine is able to count the number of passengers getting on and off at each door with image processing. In contrast to the infrared solution this machine is indifferent to the automated door-lock systems based on infrared radiation. Counting Sensors at each door are connected to the on-board computers (developed by Sodimax) through Ethernet interface. It should be installed above the entry/exit door inside the Bus, and will precisely count passengers on and off the Bus.The machine counts only at open doors.
